Another meaningless Facebook poll: After Tiger Woods’ apology, do you forgive him?

I have two questions regarding this. One, why does Tiger Woods owe me an apology? Second, does he really need my forgiveness?

Tiger Woods has done nothing to cause me harm, grief or offense. Yeah, he was unfaithful to his wife and slept around with some women. He’s not the first man to commit adultery and he probably won’t be the last. I certainly don’t approve of adultery but I’m not going to hold it against him.

Since he has not caused me any harm, grief or offense, he doesn’t specifically need my forgiveness, not that he’s ever asked for it. But if it will make him feel better and help him get his life together, here it is — “Tiger, I forgive you. Now don’t let it happen again.”

For what it’s worth…

Pay no attention to that man in the dark little room at the end of the house. He’s just doing what he finds necessary to keep his sanity. He is, to borrow a phrase from the late Douglas Adams, mostly harmless.

Really, the noises, the obscenities, the ranting and raving coming from the man-cave are not any cause for concern. I’m having what I call a BARF Storm. Instead of bottling up all of my anger and frustration inside, I let it spew out of me and after a few minutes, I’m fine. It’s kind of like primal scream therapy but not as intense.

BARF is an acronym meaning Bitterness, Anger, Resentment & Frustration. I used to have frequent BARF storms while commuting to and from the stress and frustration filled environment that was my last full-time job. Not all the BARF was work-related, some of it came from other sources. I’ve been calmer in recent months but, occasionally, there is still the need to let it all out. These days my most common source of frustration is technology, followed closely by traffic. Pressure builds up and has to be released. There are far worse ways to release it.

For what it’s worth…

is watching Monsterquest. Looking for a rock throwing Sasquatch in northern Ontario. Find the poop, eh. A creature that big shouldn’t be …

had dinner @ BE. Waited 30 min for food. They knocked $5 off the bill. Food was good but not 30 minutes good.

ACPI working properly on laptop now after tweaking /boot/grub/menu.lst. It even shuts down correctly. Alright!

1 A.M. here. Happy Birthday Sue! Still in Burton?

Enjoying my solitude today … in the usual way.

Still aches though not sure if it’s same or new. Raising BP. Feel tired. Tools organized. Cats have clean place to poop.

nudis interruptus — naked time unexpectedly cut short.

Spending Friday in the preferred state for as long as possible.

MAC or PC? PC cuz it’s what I’m familiar with. But moving from Windows to Linux for stability and cost. Runs well on older PCs.

@nakedjen not sure abt inner tween but my IVOR (Irrational Voice or Reason) is Tim Curry as Dr. Frank N. Furter (in costume).

What happened to the days when ALL movies were family movies?

@nakedjen I love Naked Fridays! (Even better to be paid to have them.)

can find nothing worthwhile on TV — crab fishing, Masonic secrets on $1 bill, Biblical fear & loathing, or lame comics. Some choices.

Had that dream where I was the only one naked. In this dream everyone was totally oblivious to my nudity. It was no big deal. Cool, eh?

Spent the night at the kids’ house while DIL was not seen at the ER. Slept just as badly there as at home.

Zen moment: If you’re not moving forward, you’re falling behind. There is no standing still.

In a debate with the IVOR with Eeyore interjecting. Has good arguments but the IVOR hasn’t always been right.

It’s Friday again. Trying to spend it in the natural state.

Never realized that peeling and dicing a boiled potato could be so freaking nasty. Yuck!

Watched the Blues Bros movie. Love that movie. Great music. Worth owning for the music alone.

BSOD this morning. Vacuumed & reseated RAM. Is good now. May have to upgrade to XP. AD won’t like it but can work around with local script.

WP 2.8.1 is out. Facing painful upgrade on FrankenWeb. Permissions are correct, yet they’re not. Don’t want to 777 everything.

I’ve been watching Wild Pacific on Discovery, fascinating series.

Moved from Wild Pacific to Futurama. I like Matt Groening’s vision of the future. A future in which I can conspire to commit public nudity.

Blood glucose has been totally whack today. Wasn’t today supposed to be my lucky day? NOT!

stayed up way past his bedtime. Almost feel hungover but haven’t had a drink in years. Just tired, so very tired.

Going nude on the space shuttle makes perfect sense. Totally controlled environment, lack of storage space. Why not?

Just watched a couple of Ma and Pa Kettle movies. Learned that 5×14=25.

Another week come and gone, not much different than previous weeks come and gone. Any different than weeks to come?

Watched an old D.W. Griffith film last night — Broken Blossoms — starring my favorite actress of all time, the lovely Lillian Gish.

Performed a relatively painless WordPress upgrade to MSPB. A couple more upgrades & I’ll have it down. Wished the automatic upgrade worked.

reading old LJ posts on my FWIW blog. Funny stuff. I need more irreverence in my blogging.

Has my sarcasm been replaced by cynicism? My heart doesn’t feel nearly as light as it used to feel.

@penguingeek It’s like waiting for DHMO to boil. I think time actually does slow while watching the progress bar.

In austere times, governments tend be become repressive and waste resources on petty perceived problems.

Not going anywhere Saturday for unknown reasons.

Meditation, yoga, lunch, all in the preferred state.

Watched “Night at the Opera” with grandkids, introducing them to classic comedy.

I wish eHarmony would stop spamming me. I’ve already found a match, about 34 years ago.

Catch-22. Need Secret clearance to work at WP but can’t get one unless I have a job that requires one but to get a job that requires one.

mowed upper lip but undecided about keeping it that way. I feel naked.

Stephane Deschenes wants to read my “Nipple Radiation” post on his Naturist Living Show podcast. I am honored.

@gymnosophy If you have to be fully dressed at the beach, what’s the point in going?

Yoga class was a helluva workout. I must be getting old, couldn’t get into a shoulder stand. I was like a turtle on his back. Sucks to g[et old]

Party Mix treats for cats? What’s next? Kitty keggers?

mowed the lawn, keeping the grass gestapo off my butt for a while longer. It should be my right to let the grass grow and cattle graze.

Alabama joins Michigan in censoring/banning nudity on labels for alcoholic beverages. Just what is the connection between nudity and alcohol that seemingly makes the two incompatible?

The Alabama Beverage Control Board has deemed that an art poster from 1895 is pornographic, forcing distributors to remove a wine bearing its image from stores across the state. The offending label carries a reproduction of an art poster done in 1895 by an unknown Parisian artist introducing the Cycles Gladiator bicycle. The poster depicts a nude woman with flowing red hair essentially flying through space with a bicycle.

The ABC claims the issue is that the label was not approved by the board. However, Hahn Family Wines of Napa Valley, California, producer of the wine, claims that the board did approve the label in 2006 and has been selling the wine in all 50 states and around the world without complaints. They’re dutifully pulling their product from Alabama shelves and are contemplating whether to change the label for wine sold in Alabama or not sell it in the state at all. They only sell about 500 cases a year in Alabama. As Bill Leigon, president of Hahn Family Wines, points out, “It’s still available in the other 49 states.”

The article is here.

re: @alyankovic: No more Polka Grammys? It’s a sad day for music, no doubt about it. Where do we Slavs go to complain?

is watching The Corsican Brothers on Comedy Central. Cheech & Chong without drug humor, funny

watching firewalking across 1000 degree coals on Timewarp. No thanks, prefers his feet uncooked.

Family Guy or UFO Hunters? No contest, going with the more realistic show.

Aaaargh! Hate WordPress upgrades. Permissions are correct yet not correct. Blog is down.

blog is up and running now. Have no idea why it’s working. Why can’t I have a painless upgrade?

watching Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Two hours never to be had again.

Can’t spare 2 hours watching Jim Carrey being looney. Are lame comics on Comedy Central any better? Not much.

Got up at 9. still not feeling fully functional. Up until 3 working on research and organizing data. Getting too old to do that.

is feeling more functional this morning but still looking for motivation. Pretty sure it’s buried under one of those piles on the desk.

has been working on new content for genealogy site (obits). Knows more about dead relatives than living ones.

Gem City Hardware has closed. Where do we find stuff unique to Huber Homes? Lowe’s & Home Depot don’t have it. Bummer.

Nothing worth watching on TV last couple of nights. Just watched 1st season of Coupling again. I love that show.

is spending his Friday in the usual way, as God intended — NIFOC.

Poor air conditioner. It’s old & tired. No money to fix or replace, not this year. Long, hot summer ahead. May have to quit wearing clothes.

had Midnight at the Oasis running through his head this morning. Haven’t even heard the song recently.

Off to see my cute doctor.

fasted for nothing, no blood drawn. Vitals OK. Doctor still cute.

My weed-eater, POS. Overly complicated simple design. Last one like that. Ever. Need one I can depend on. Wait, don’t make those any more.

In a dream, “kein Geld” was the only German phrase I could remember. Any significance? Real life prophecy?

New phones arrived. New technology to figure out = stress = frustration = anger = path to the dark side. Yoda didn’t have a cell phone.

M-L rep stopping by tomorrow to talk about wealth management. How do you manage what you don’t have? Nor likely to have soon?

Hot out today. Going naked sounds like a good idea. Wish I had a pool.

2 hrs semi-inverted in dentist chair for root canal & filling. Gonna get some Vicodin! Yay!

The lidocaine is wearing off. Thank goodness for Vicodin. When does it kick in?

Gotta do something about shower. Tired of half-assed fixes. Looking for options.

Watched Ice Age, very funny with some poignant moments. Watching the second one now.

The Vicodin seems to be working now, after the second dose (at the recommended interval).

Life After People: Why is the entropy that occurs so disastrous? Who’s around to care? Just everything returning to its natural state.

Life After People: When the people disappeared, who was in charge of turning out the lights?

Fabreze ad: It stinks in here but don’t bother cleaning. We’ll spray it and mask the stench. Why clean up when we can bury it?

There was a lot of randomness this month. Maybe it’s not random at all.

Prostate cancer is a disease that men don’t like to talk about but maybe they should. Personally, I don’t have a problem with my annual prostate exam. Sure, it’s a little uncomfortable but compared to surgery or chemo therapy, it’s a minor inconvenience.

Actually, I don’t need a special day to go commando. I enjoy the freedom and comfort of it everyday (except when the cold winter wind tests my frosticles) but prostate cancer awareness is a good reason. Can I get a button to wear?
