Political correctness
a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Exorcising the demon

Today’s topic on my other blog deals with exorcising a certain demon. I believe that by eliminating this particular demon, I can greatly reduce my chances of turning to the dark side. I’m hoping that I’m right in my assumption.

I also believe that it is possible to exorcise this demon on my own. I can take the initial steps to shut down my demon but the follow through will be the most difficult part and that is where I have always failed. Previously, when I’ve attempted to exorcise this demon, I’ve successfully taking those steps and even kept him at bay for a few days but the demon has always returned, reopening the conduit to the dark side. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried to rid myself of this demon but he always returns.

I have no reason to expect a different result this time around. I will purge myself of the demon and within in a week, I expect to be under his spell again. That’s my honest assessment of my chances. Why should it be any different this time around?

After years of fighting this demon, I think I’m beginning to understand him. He is drawn to frustration and feeds off of it, generating more frustration. Fear is not the only path to the dark side. It would seem obvious that I need to reduce or eliminate frustration, and find contentment. That, my friends, is easier said than done. As an internal battle, it’s probably a lost cause. Maybe I can’t do it on my own after all.
